Mostly it is a 10-day festival but it depends on the devotees. Some bring it for 1.5 days, 3 days, 7 days, or 10 days. Where Ganesha is offered coconut, jaggery & modaks (Sweet Dumplings) which is considered Ganesha’s favorite food.

When it comes to ritual there are 4 main rituals performed in these 10 days namely Pranapratishhtha, Shhodashopachara, Uttarpuja, and Ganpati Visarjan. The Lord is worshiped with great devotion and prayers are performed daily. A huge Lord Ganpati statue can be spotted in the streets where a large number of people gather and offer prayers together. On the tenth day, the statues are carried on decorated floats and immersed within the sea. Many people participate within the immersion of the idols within the sea. The people gather together to dance, sing, offer prayers and explode firecrackers on the way to Lord’s immersion. They invite the lord’s blessings and to come back back to their home future year.
